Collect Pledges

Proceeds from the first annual Run4Health will go towards improving the health care in our community. Funds from this year’s event will be applied towards the purchase of an ECG Machine for the Emergency Department at the Walkerton Hospital.

This vital piece of equipment will help monitor those patients who are suspected to have heart related problems. With this piece of equipment we will be one step closer to achieving our goal of providing the best possible health care for ALL patients close to home.

Run4Health is being organized by a committed group of volunteers who are dedicated to the promotion of active and healthy lifestyles, while raising money for the Walkerton & District Hospital Foundation.

Walkerton & District Hospital Foundation:

The Foundation is a not-for-profit charitable organization which was incorporated in 1994. The Walkerton & District Hospital Foundation is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors that work their hardest each and every day to ensure that our patients receive the best possible health care. We believe that it is extremely important for all our patients to feel welcomed, safe and at ease when they visit the Walkerton Hospital.

The Walkerton Hospital is a 37 bed facility that serves approximately 6,000 from the community and 12,000 from surrounding areas.  Our hospital is the first health care resource within a large radius, as we are situated within a countrified area. Therefore, it is crucial that we maintain quality level health care by providing our patients with the best equipment and technology, such as the ECG Machine.

You Can Have Your Race Funded

The Run4Health committee is offering you an incredible opportunity. If you raise $100 or more in pledges, you will be eligible to have your race registration funded. Submit your pledge form and collected funding before race day. A full refund of your fees will be mailed to you several weeks after the race.

The Walkerton & District Hospital Foundation challenges all walkers/runners to collect pledges in support of your local hospital.  You’ll have the chance to win some great fundraising prizes!

Since the Foundation was incorporated, community support has helped to raise $4,000,000. Let’s continue this today; help us provide ALL our patients with the best possible health care close to home.
